Job summary

Shipt, a retail tech company, seeks a Data Scientist focusing on geospatial intelligence to power next‑gen final‑mile logistics. You will build models and data systems using location, routing, traffic and spatial signals to improve delivery success and reduce costs.

You’ll work with GPS traces, mapping data and geospatial datasets, collaborating with product managers and engineers to translate insights into production systems. A MS/PhD and Python expertise are required.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields.
• Experience building production ML models deployed in real-world systems.
• Experience with geospatial data (ex. GPS traces, spatial indexing systems, or routing systems).
• Strong understanding of predictive modeling, feature engineering, experimentation and causal inference.
• Strong Python skills with libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Power the next generation of final-mile logistics through geospatial ML models and data systems.
• Work with GPS traces, mapping data and geospatial datasets to improve delivery success and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with product managers, logistic operators and software engineers to deploy models into production.
