Job summary

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) seeks a data- and GIS-driven analyst to collect, process, and analyze crime data from SCIBRS/NIBRS and related datasets. You will develop maps, dashboards, and reports to support operational awareness and executive decision-making.

You will collaborate with GIS, CJIS, and IT units, leveraging ArcGIS, Excel, SQL, and Python to deliver actionable insights for statewide law enforcement effectiveness.

Qualifications

Associate degree or higher in GIS, analytics, or related field.
Knowledge of geospatial concepts, data management, and presentation of information.
Experience with crime-data data concepts (SCIBRS, NIBRS) and visualization.

Responsibilities

Collect, process, analyze, validate, and maintain crime data from SCIBRS/NIBRS and related datasets.
Develop geospatial products (maps, dashboards, charts) to support crime analysis and reporting.
Prepare routine and ad hoc crime-data reports and summarize findings for technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with GIS, CJIS, IT, and law enforcement partners to improve data access and visualization.
