Job summary

Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is seeking a Big Data Analyst to evaluate datasets and shape analytics for government and defense projects in the Herndon area.

You will collaborate with software developers and end-users to translate data into actionable insights and support critical missions. Ideal candidates will have TS/SCI clearance, 5+ years of data analytics experience, and hands-on work with Python, SQL, Spark, and Elasticsearch/Kibana, plus a willingness to work on-site in Herndon, VA

Qualifications

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to obtain a CI polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Equivalent years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• At least 5 years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist or similar.
• Experience formulating a repeatable process for data evaluations and communicating findings to government officials.
• In-depth knowledge of technical data types based on previous research and work with data sets of interest. Data types of interest include Technical Telemetry Data and other forms of telecommunication protocol data types, including cellular and wi-fi.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter with excellent time-management skills and the ability to independently manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Must be experienced working in fast-paced environments.
• Experience working with Software Engineers to provide feedback and validate the technical implementation for custom applications.
• Experience working with a scripting language like Python, SQL, Spark, PySpark or similar.
• Must be able to work on-site in Herndon, VA, with the ability to work in Springfield, VA as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing and developing dataset evaluations and assessments to inform government decision making.
• Shaping data engineering approaches for analytic tradecraft improvements within our applications.
• Identifying and documenting gaps within our data corpus and analytical capabilities.
• Working hand-in-hand with software developers to field requirements and provide feedback as changes are implemented into an application.
• Working with end-users to provide SME support for various data or application questions and requests.
