Job summary

Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) seeks a Big Data Analyst to evaluate datasets, support analytic tradecraft improvements, and collaborate with developers and end-users onsite in Springfield, VA.

You will perform dataset assessments, help shape data engineering approaches, and identify gaps in data and analytics. You will work with software engineers to translate requirements into effective applications and support end-users as subject matter experts in data and telemetry formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; equivalent experience allowed.
• Minimum 5 years as a data analyst/scientist or similar role.
• Experience formulating repeatable data evaluation processes and communicating findings to officials.
• Experience with telemetry data types (cellular/Wi‑Fi) and related datasets.

Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is seeking a Big Data Analyst to evaluate datasets, support analytic tradecraft improvements, and collaborate with developers and end-users.

Responsibilities

• Perform and develop dataset evaluations and assessments to support government decision making
• Help shape data engineering approaches that improve analytic tradecraft within RGi applications
• Identify, document, and communicate gaps within the data corpus and analytical capabilities
• Partner with software developers to field requirements and provide feedback as application changes are implemented
• Support end-users as a subject matter expert for data and application questions and requests

Requirements

• Current/active TS/SCI and willingness/ability to obtain a CI polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (equivalent years of experience may substitute for a degree)
• At least 5 years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist, or similar role
• Experience formulating a repeatable process for data evaluations and communicating findings to government officials
• In-depth knowledge of technical data types from prior research and work with relevant datasets, including Technical Telemetry Data and other telecommunication protocol data types (including cellular and Wi-Fi)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with strong time management and the ability to independently manage multiple concurrent tasks
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with Software Engineers to provide feedback and validate technical implementation for custom applications
• Experience with scripting and analytics tools such as Python, SQL, Spark, PySpark, or similar
• Ability to work on-site in Herndon, VA, with ability to work in Springfield, VA as needed

Things We Would Like to See

• Ability to translate technical conclusions and present them to a broader audience
• Experience conducting geospatial analysis, including Activity-Based Intelligence or Pattern of Life analysis
• Experience applying, improving, and documenting innovative analytic methodologies while keeping them up to date

Location: Springfield, VA (onsite) | Salary: USD 130,000 to 190,000 per year | Experience: 5+ years
