Job summary

Invenergy LLC in Chicago, IL is seeking a Geospatial Analyst to join the Engineering & GIS team. This entry-level role helps you grow your GIS skills while contributing to energy project lifecycles and siting, permitting, and design support.

You will work with GIS analysts and developers on mapping, data management, and workflows, gaining exposure to Python and SQL and learning how geospatial work informs energy infrastructure decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Proficiency with ESRI software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online / ArcGIS Enterprise).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Internship or academic experience applying GIS in real-world projects.
• Familiarity with renewable energy, environmental datasets, or land records.
• Exposure to automation tools (Python, SQL) or interest in learning them.
• Exposure to raster analysis and image interpretation and processing

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality maps, data, and interactive products.
• Partner with Development and Engineering teams to meet project needs and deadlines.
• Incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders to refine deliverables.
• Assist with map requests, spatial data integration, and basic analyses.
• Learn how geospatial workflows contribute to siting, land acquisition, permitting, and design.
• Maintain centralized GIS databases with standards and version control.
