Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Entry-Level Geoscientist to join our team, supervised by our Lead Geophysicist. You will collaborate with remote sensing, geospatial field services, and geotechnical engineering teams on renewable energy and other power-related projects.

Responsibilities include planning surveys, data processing, site investigations management, and preparing deliverables and proposals, while growing in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Completion or near completion of a B.S. or M.S. in geological sciences.
• Experience collecting and processing near-surface geophysical data (GPR, magnetometers).
• Familiarity with geotechnical engineering, remote sensing, and GIS analysis.
• Strong technical and interpersonal skills for a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
• Attention to detail and quality of work; ability to work independently.
• Willingness to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 15–20% and fieldwork up to 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Plan geophysical surveys and acquire field data (GPR, resistivity, magnetometer).
• Process and interpret ground-based and aerial geophysical/remote sensing data.
• Lead on-site coordination of geotechnical site investigations with drilling subcontractors.
• Prepare geophysical, remote sensing, and geotechnical deliverables, reports, and proposals.
• Keep management advised of work status and progress.
