Job summary

ExxonMobil seeks qualified individuals to join the Geomodel Technology Development team to advance next-gen geomodeling workflows and digital solutions for reservoir characterization and field development.

The role requires geoscience expertise, reservoir modeling experience, strong programming skills, and collaboration with diverse teams to deliver scalable technology across ExxonMobil’s Upstream portfolio at the Spring campus, Texas.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in geoscience related field required/preferred.
• Experience in geomodeling technology development or reservoir characterization is desired.
• Strong programming and analytical skills (Python or similar) required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and deploy geomodeling technologies and workflows to improve reservoir characterization.
• Lead development and implementation of advanced geomodeling methodologies for field development.
• Research and apply AI/ML, automation, and uncertainty quantification to subsurface challenges.
• Design, test, and optimize algorithms for geocellular model construction and property modeling.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, engineers, data scientists, and software developers to deliver practical tech solutions.
• Create tools/workflows to improve model quality, efficiency, and reproducibility across global assets.
• Coordinate benchmarking, validation, and QA of geomodeling workflows.
