Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) is seeking a Survey (Geomatics) Crew Chief for our Orlando, FL team. The role leads the geomatics crew on projects primarily in transportation and land development, coordinating field data collection and QA/QC.

You will supervise field crews, manage workflow, review deeds and plans, operate GPS and total stations, and ensure safety and budget adherence. A 5+ year geomatics leadership background and a valid driver's license are required; AutoCAD/Civil3D or

Qualifications

• 5+ years of geomatics land surveying crew chief experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D desirable.
• Experience with MicroStation and Open Roads desirable.
• Experience with Trimble survey equipment/software desirable.
• Experience with GIS desirable.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to travel out of town.

Responsibilities

• Supervises members of the geomatics/survey crew.
• Guides and directs geomatics staff to stay on course with budget and schedule.
• Formulates workflow plans to complete survey/geomatics projects.
• Oversees field operations surveys (boundary, topographic, control, construction, ALTA/NSPS).
• Analyzes deeds, plans and records for projects.
• Operates data collection systems (GPS, total stations, levels).
• Ensures accurate layout and measurement on survey projects.
• Maintains equipment and vehicles.
• Communicates with the public as needed.
• Documents all phases of work via notes and reports.
