Fresno City College is seeking a part-time Geology Instructor to teach Geology courses and support a diverse student population. The successful candidate will employ varied pedagogies, including online and hybrid formats, and align with approved curriculum.

Qualifications

• Master’s in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography or paleontology.
• Bachelor’s in geology and Master’s in geography, physics, or geochemistry.
• A valid California Community College Credential.
• The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Responsibilities

• Teaching a part-time schedule of Geology courses as assigned.
• Using a variety of pedagogies and delivery systems including online and hybrid formats.
• Communicating effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Adhering to curriculum outlines and course objectives.
• Evaluating student progress with tests, exams, and assignments.
• Providing course syllabi and maintaining classroom records.
• Turning in all grading and evaluation reports on time.
• Teaching across instructional settings and times as needed.
• Fulfilling duties of instructors per Administrative Regulation 7122.

Education

Master’s in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography or paleontology

Bachelor’s in geology and Master’s in geography, physics, or geochemistry

A valid California Community College Credential

The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency)
