Job summary

San Francisco Community College District invites applications for part-time Geology Instructors to teach a range of Earth Sciences courses at CCSF. The role includes online and hybrid instruction, service on departmental activities, and assessment of student outcomes in a culturally responsive teaching environment.

Instructors will support student success, work with diverse learners, and engage in ongoing professional development while aligning with the college’s equity goals and mission.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work with diverse student populations in a community college setting.
• Degree majors must match listed requirements or education equivalency must be claimed.
• Ph.D. applicants without a master's degree must still claim equivalency as indicated.

Responsibilities

• Teach college-level Earth Sciences courses (Climate Change, Environmental Geology, Historical Geology, Physical Geology, Oceanography and labs).
• Teach hybrid, online and/or CCSF instructional-site courses.
• Assess student progress, grade, maintain records and report learning outcomes.
• Participate in departmental functions and curriculum development.
• Support inclusive and anti-racist teaching practices and equity-focused pedagogy.
• Engage in diversity, equity, and inclusion training to center pedagogy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
