Job summary

Brunel is seeking a contract Geologist for a major oil & gas client in Texas to start on a 1-year assignment. The role is office-based, Monday through Friday, focusing on subsurface evaluation and reservoir optimization.

You will integrate geological, petrophysical, and reservoir engineering data to support carbon storage opportunities and enhanced oil recovery, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, produce models and regulatory reports, and contribute to risk assessments and project

Qualifications

  • Experience applying geological concepts to oil & gas projects.
  • Familiarity with reservoir modeling and integration of petrophysical data.
  • Ability to develop and evaluate reservoir and storage risk assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop static reservoir models to support characterization, field development, and carbon storage evaluations.
  • Analyze reservoir heterogeneity and uncertainties to improve management strategies.
  • Identify and evaluate EOR opportunities through geological interpretation and integrated studies.
  • Support reservoir surveillance, pattern optimization, and performance monitoring with Operations and Low Carbon Solutions teams.
  • Conduct geological assessments for carbon storage projects balancing long-term storage capacity with reservoir preservation.
  • Contribute to reserve and storage volume assessments, annual certification activities, and technical evaluations.
  • Support abandonment planning, subsurface risk assessments, and regulatory compliance with SSHE standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation, audit support materials, and regulatory reports.
  • Collaborate across geoscience, reservoir engineering, operations, and environmental teams to deliver integrated subsurface solutions.
