Job summary

Sawtooth Mining, LLC is seeking a technically skilled Geologist for the Thacker Pass Lithium Clay Surface Mine project in Nevada. You will lead ore-control drilling, analyze drilling results, and integrate data into short-range geological and assay models while ensuring QA/QC and reconciliation tracking.

The role reports to the Principal Geologist and involves collaboration with mining operations, environmental teams, and contractors at the Thacker Pass Project in Orovada, NV.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology with 5-10 years’ experience in exploration drilling, geological block modeling, and ore control at a surface mining operation.
• Preference for Master’s degree in Geology, Professional Geologist designation, and QP status under SEC SK-1300 and Canadian 43-101 regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret geologic data and provide structure and assay information.
• Monitor drilling permits and protection of reserves.
• Supervise contractors during geologic drilling and related projects.
• Collect and analyze geotechnical data.
• Maintain geologic files, QA/QC data, databases, and samples.
• Complete special technical studies as assigned.
• Update short-range geological, structural, and block models for mine planning.
• Lead and support Ore Control to ensure efficient mining and reconciliation tracking.
• Perform duties per MSHA regulations, state/federal requirements, and policies.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture and environmental stewardship.
