Job summary

Fervo Energy seeks a Geologist to design, plan, and execute large-scale geothermal developments. You will collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and drilling teams to integrate geological data into field decisions and support drilling, completion and testing activities.

Required: a Bachelor's in geology/geophysics and 3+ years of subsurface experience in geothermal or oil & gas; Petrel proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in geology, geophysics, or a related discipline.
3+ years of professional experience in geothermal and/or oil & gas subsurface roles.
Working knowledge of geologic interpretation and subsurface data integration using industry-standard software (Petrel strongly preferred).
Experience supporting drilling, completions, or wellsite operations in a development or production context.
Ability to interpret basic subsurface data sets, including well logs and seismic data.

Responsibilities

Well Planning, Drilling & Operations Support: provide real-time geological input during active operations.
Geologic Modeling & Subsurface Characterization: integrate data to build 3D models and characterize reservoirs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Documentation: work with engineering, geophysics, drilling, and production teams; prepare summaries.
Data, Vendors & Continuous Learning: manage subsurface data and learnings; travel to field sites up to 20–30%.
