Job summary

Fervo is pursuing cost-effective, repeatable geothermal power plants and seeks a Senior Drilling Engineer to design and execute advanced geothermal drilling in a dynamic environment. You will lead well planning, design, and daily operations, coordinating with partners and suppliers to drive continuous improvement while maintaining strong safety and reliability standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 10+ years of drilling engineering/operations experience.
• Experience in US Onshore horizontal drilling (5+ years with an operator).
• Competency in casing design, directional drilling, drill string/BHA design, drilling fluids, cementing.
• Proficiency with standard well engineering design software.
• Strong risk assessment, time and cost estimation skills.
• Planning complex drilling operations.
• Experience with supply chain and cost management.
• Hands-on field experience and commitment to HSE.

Responsibilities

• Well planning, design, engineering, and daily operations support.
• Support contract management and coordinate with partners and suppliers to improve drilling performance.
• Coordinate and manage drilling contractors and ownership of AFEs and budgets.
• Track micro-KPIs and drive continuous improvement in well cycle time and cost.
• Post-well closeout and reporting with lessons learned.
