Job summary

WorkNovaX is seeking a geologist to focus on core logging and geotechnical data collection, with field activities as needed. You will document lithology, alteration, structures, veining, and mineralization using tablets and support 3D model verification in the field.

Responsibilities include coordinating with senior management on drilling decisions, ensuring proper drill rig orientation, and maintaining safety compliance while performing related geological tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Mining or related discipline (or demonstrated equivalent).
• 2–5 years of experience in the geological field.

Responsibilities

• Logging drill core with tablet-based systems (lithology, alteration, structures, veining, mineralization).
• Ensure drill rigs are oriented as per drill plan.
• Coordinate with senior geology management on decisions about drilling depth/termination.
• Record geotechnical data (RQD, rock hardness, magnetic susceptibility) as needed.
• Verify geologic 3D models in the field as required.
• Adhere to safety policies and company safety awareness program.
• Perform other related geological duties as required.

Job description

The Position is responsible for primarily core logging, and geotechnical logging, though field activities may also be required.

• Ensuring drill rigs are properly orientated as specified by the drill plan.


• Coordinating with senior geologic management, making decisions on ending drill holes or deepening drill holes based on results and drilling conditions.


• Perform detailed logging of drill core using tablets, recording lithology, alteration, structures, veining, and mineralization.


• As needed, assist geo-technicians recording geotechnical data including RQD, rock hardness, and magnetic susceptibility.


• As needed, geologic field verification of 3D models.


• Understands and uses computer software and applications associated with geological assignments


• Complies with Companys Safety Awareness program, office and or field safety policies


• Performs other related geological work as required

Minimum Qualifications and Education:

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology, Mining or related discipline or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or University or demonstrated equivalent.


• Experience: Two ( 2 ) to five ( 5 ) years of experience in the geological field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience logging drill core.


• Experience with porphyry copper and copper skarn deposits.
