Job summary
Ambiris Recruitment is seeking a Logging Geologist for a gold exploration and development project in Nevada. The role focuses on drill core logging, lithology interpretation, and maintaining high-quality geological records while supporting QA/QC and data management.
You’ll participate in ongoing drilling programs, contribute to resource definition, and adapt to rotation schedules across Nevada with on-site field work and potential longer hitches.
Qualifications
- Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or related discipline.
- Experience in exploration geology and geological logging.
- Gold exploration experience desirable.
- Good understanding of lithology, alteration and mineralisation.
- Experience with geological databases and logging software.
- Strong attention to detail and data quality.
- Comfortable working in a field-based exploration environment.
Responsibilities
- Geological logging of drill samples and recording lithology, alteration, mineralisation, structure and oxidation.
- Maintain accurate geological records and databases; support QA/QC and data quality.
- Assist with geological interpretation and resource definition; support ongoing infill and extension drilling.
- Contribute to the project as it progresses towards PFS.

I’m currently recruiting for a Logging Geologist on behalf of a gold exploration and development company, supporting an active project in Nevada.
This is a full-time opportunity for a geologist with experience in drill core and/or RC logging who wants to work on an active exploration and resource development project.
You’ll support ongoing drilling and geological work across the project, with responsibilities including:
- Geological logging of drill samples
- Recording lithology, alteration, mineralisation, structure and oxidation
- Core photography, sampling and sample mark-up
- Maintaining accurate geological records and databases
- Supporting QA/QC and geological data quality
- Assisting with geological interpretation and resource definition
- Supporting ongoing infill and extension drilling
- Contributing to the project as it progresses towards PFS
- Degree qualified in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline
- Experience in exploration geology and geological logging
- Gold exploration experience highly desirable
- Good understanding of lithology, alteration and mineralisation
- Experience with geological databases and logging software
- Strong attention to detail and focus on data quality
- Comfortable working in a field-based exploration environment
The rotation is flexible depending on where you are based:
- Nevada-based: 8 days on / 6 days off
- Further afield: 10/8 or 15-day hitches can be accommodated
- Apartment accommodation can be provided the day before rotation
