Job summary

LV8D Solutions is seeking a GEOINT Ground Systems Thread Engineer in Chantilly, VA to ensure GEOINT capabilities—from tasking to processing and dissemination—work coherently across programs and contractors.

You will baseline new capabilities, evaluate technologies, influence architecture, and oversee contractor work to align with government requirements and enterprise priorities. On-site with TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 9+ years of experience; Master's 7+ years; PhD/JD 4+ years.
• 2+ years of GEOINT ground processing experience.
• Experience with GEOINT systems, including space/ground architectures and mission processing.
• Knowledge of IC/DoD acquisition processes, roles, and program management.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end engineering across GEOINT ground mission threads—from collection tasking to processing and delivery.
• Baseline GEOINT ground capabilities: requirements, CONOPS, interfaces, sequencing, dependencies.
• Provide technical oversight of contractor development, integration, verification.
• Analyze workflows to identify performance gaps and recommend improvements.
• Support technical reviews, tests, and readiness milestones; validate capability delivery.
• Maintain cognizance of baselines, schedules, risks across Ground Enterprise.
• Conduct trade studies and shape future GEOINT ground architectures (cloud-native, service-based).
• Evaluate impacts to cost, schedule, performance, and risk; propose mitigations.
• Review proposals, reports, and design artifacts for feasibility and alignment.
• Coordinate with Government, SETA, and contractor teams to meet strategic priorities.
