Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point invites applications for an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Geography and Geology. This is a part-time, fixed-term (9-month) academic staff position used to build a pool for future course openings.

Positions are hired per course; teaching loads range 1–12 credits per semester; on-site with potential for partial remote opportunities. Qualifications include a Master’s in Geography; Doctorate preferred; strong undergrad teaching.

Qualifications

Minimum of Master’s degree in Geography or related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience, interest, and commitment to undergraduate teaching.
Earned Doctorate in Geography (preferred).
Previous teaching experience with ability to teach intro physical geography and upper-division GIS courses (ArcGIS Pro).
Experience and/or interest in teaching online courses.

Responsibilities

Serves as initial point of contact for students regarding course content and expectations.
Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance.
Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction.
