Job summary

AECOM Phoenix, Arizona office is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our Geo-Civil team. The role offers ownership of design tasks and opportunities to work on mining, dam, and power projects with a team of seasoned professionals.

You will grow technical and leadership skills as you contribute to preliminary and detailed design, data collection, and field support, with hybrid work options and a path toward PE eligibility.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability to pass Motor Vehicles Records check as per policy.
• EIT Certification is strongly preferred and PE is preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established procedures.
• Proposes approaches to solve new problems and identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
• Performs work within budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
• Undertake preliminary and detailed design activities.
• Ensure designs comply with company and client standards.
• Prepare engineering calculations and estimates.
• Review quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare technical memos, design reports, and specifications.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D daily for design models, drawings, and sections.
• Work under supervision of project manager or senior team member.
• Oversee and direct data collection and analysis activities.
• Develop engineering design skills through periodic field experience; may include construction support and site inspections.

Education

BA/BS in Civil Engineering + 2 years experience

EIT Certification strongly preferred

PE preferred
