Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Cambridge, MA seeks an Informatics Engineer to build the scientific data and computing platform powering gene editing programs. You will connect NGS instruments, Benchling, and AWS, ensuring provenance, scalable storage, and observability.

You will ship APIs, SDKs, and tools for genomic data analytics, while orchestrating automated, event-driven pipelines and AI-powered capabilities for internal workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years engineering in production environments with science data.
• Strong Python and production AWS experience.
• IaC with Terraform or CDK; Docker and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with life-science or regulated data.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a data platform connecting NGS, Benchling, and AWS.
• Develop APIs, SDKs, and internal tools for genomic data analytics.
• Create an orchestration layer for scalable pipeline execution.
• Ship AI-powered capabilities and RAG over internal data.
• Integrate ELNs, LIMS, instrument software with cloud compute.
• Translate scientific requirements into reliable production software.
• Collaborate with scientists to optimize performance, cost, reliability.
