Prime Medicine, Inc. is hiring an Informatics Engineer to build the data and computing platform powering our gene editing programs.

You will collaborate with computational biology and cloud infrastructure teams to own platform end-to-end, from data pipelines to AI-enabled internal tooling. The role focuses on designing scalable data platforms, APIs, and orchestration for scientific pipelines, while driving integration across ELNs, LIMS, and cloud compute with a strong emphasis on reliability and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time engineering experience in production environments.
• Production AWS experience with depth in event-driven, cloud-native architectures (Lambda, EventBridge, IaC).
• Docker/containerization, Git workflows, CI/CD, testing in DEV/TEST before production.
• Experience building integrations and automations; life-science or regulated-data exposure is valued.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the data platform linking NGS instruments, Benchling, and AWS; handle ingestion, provenance, storage, and observability.
• Build production-grade APIs, SDKs, and internal tools for genomic data and analyses.
• Create orchestration layer for automated, event-driven pipelines (amplicon-seq, off-target analysis) and ensure scalable execution.
• Develop AI-powered capabilities like RAG over internal data and agentic workflows with human-in-the-loop review.
• Implement integrations across ELNs, LIMS, instrument software, and cloud compute to enable data flow.
• Translate scientific requirements into reliable software and partner with scientists and cloud teams to improve performance.
