Illumina is seeking a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist in San Diego/remote to design and implement advanced signal processing and bioinformatics algorithms, focusing on rapid, accurate genomic data analysis. • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field and 6+ years of related experience
• Strong background in signal processing, data analysis, and statistical methods
• Experience with C++ and object-oriented design; Java/C# also considered

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and implement signal processing and bioinformatics algorithms
• Analyze data and optimize software at the algorithm, design, or code level
• Collaborate with external teams to ensure end-to-end workflow with external organizations
• Develop, debug, and integrate optimized C/C++ software on Linux for multi-threaded applications
