Job summary

Illumina's Primary Analysis team develops algorithms and software to detect genomic data from images, prioritizing reliability, speed, and accuracy. The role centers on building scalable C/C++ software for Linux in a multi-threaded environment.

Ideal candidates will contribute to accelerating workflows, collaborating with bioinformatics, instrument design, and quality teams within an Agile setting, while maintaining high standards and staying current with industry trends.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C/C++ with multi-threading and memory management
• Experience with Linux environments and debugging with GDB
• Strong unit testing against mocks
• Familiarity with real-time & image processing is a plus
• Strong problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Define software architecture solutions for high-performance signal processing pipelines
• Design, develop, debug, and integrate C/C++ software on Linux for multi-threaded applications
• Optimize and accelerate software on Illumina instruments
• Collaborate with the bioinformatics, instrument design, test and quality teams
• Work in an Agile environment to maintain high-quality software
• Keep up with industry trends and evaluate new software/hardware technologies
• Provide technical leadership where needed
