UCSF Health seeks a Hospital Assistant III – Genetic Counselor Assistant to support ambulatory services. You will interview patients, document histories, and facilitate coordination of visits with genetic counselors and physicians. You will also handle specimen logistics and assist with research tasks in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and document medical histories.
• Request and upload outside records to Apex and departmental database.
• Assist clinic flow: scheduling, rooming, coordinating joint visits with genetic counselors and physicians.
• Share education at the Genetic Testing Station and manage patient education materials.
• Review consent forms with patients and facilitate e-signatures.
• Assist with sample collection and transportation to labs.
• Prepare blood or saliva samples for transport to laboratories.
• Coordinate communications with genetic testing laboratories and respond to requests.
• Support clinical research projects including consent, data collection, and documentation.
