Job summary

Ready Power in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Generator Service Technician to maintain, service, and repair standby generators for residential and commercial customers. You will join an established team working with electrical and mechanical components of generators across our territory.

The role requires hands-on experience, strong understanding of engines and electrical systems, and the ability to read technical documents. Travel within the territory with a company vehicle is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience within a mechanical environment.
• Generator experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and service guides.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to power generation systems, including air and liquid-cooled generators, and transfer switches from various manufacturers.
• Diagnose or troubleshoot problems with generators and electrical/mechanical system failures and warranty issues.
• Prepare and submit compliance, operational, and safety documentation on work completed.
• Communicate with customers and service dispatchers regarding job progress, parts availability, and cost estimates.
• Travel with company vehicle for service calls within our territory.

What You'll Do

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years of experience within a mechanical environment
• Generator experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines and electrical systems
• Proven experience with leading a team, providing training/guidance, and documentation
• Ability to read and comprehend technical documents and service manuals for diagnostics and troubleshooting repairs
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and work outside
