Job summary

John Starz Electric, a Generac channel partner in Jacksonville, NC, seeks a Generator Technician to service residential and commercial generators. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, replace parts, test repairs, and document work orders.

The role requires teamwork, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and a valid driver’s license. On-call rotations are required, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and the ability to read technical schematics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of lifting heavy equipment and tools, up to 50+ lbs.
• Valid Driver's License and 2+ years working with generators.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot generator malfunctions and failures
• Replace or repair defective parts and components as needed.
• Test and verify repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Conduct regular inspections of generators and associated systems to identify potential issues or safety hazards.
• Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports and recommendations.
• Offer recommendations for upgrades or replacements as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
• Complete and submit service reports in a timely manner.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency repairs
• Communicate with inside staff regarding the status of work orders.
