Job summary

Generac Channel Partner in Crown Point, Indiana seeks an experienced Generator Technician to install, maintain, and repair generators to ensure reliable power for clients.

You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, replace parts, and verify repairs while documenting activities and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on generator experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine generator maintenance (oil, filters, checks).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot generator malfunctions.
• Replace or repair defective parts as needed.
• Test and verify repairs for proper operation.
• Inspect generators and related systems for hazards.
• Prepare inspection reports and recommendations.
• Suggest upgrades or replacements when applicable.
• Maintain service records and submit reports promptly.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergencies.
• Communicate work order status with staff.

We are seeking a skilled Generator Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of generators to ensure reliable power supply for our clients. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

What You\'ll Do

• Perform routine maintenance on generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot generator malfunctions and failures
• Replace or repair defective parts and components as needed.
• Test and verify repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Conduct regular inspections of generators and associated systems to identify potential issues or safety hazards.
• Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports and recommendations.
• Offer recommendations for upgrades or replacements as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
• Complete and submit service reports in a timely manner.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency repairs
• Communicate with inside staff regarding the status of work orders.

What You\'ll Bring

• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment and the ability to read technical schematics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools, up to 50+ lbs.
• Capable of working in various environmental conditions.
• Valid Driver's License
• Have your own tools - specialty tools provided
• 2+ years working with generators
