Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is the #1 provider of home standby generators and a leader in renewable energy solutions. We’re hiring a dependable Generator Mechanic / Service Technician to join our growing field team.

This role travels to residential job sites in a company‑provided vehicle and performs diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole‑home standby generators. The ideal candidate has mechanical and electrical repair experience, can read schematics and manuals, and communicates

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in generator service, small engine repair, or related mechanical/electrical work
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
• Comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Physically able to perform job duties, including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and outdoor environments
• Familiarity with residential generator systems and ATS technology is a plus

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle
• Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators
• Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and any recommendations
• Accurately document all work in our service management software
• Follow safety protocols and industry best practices when working around electricity
• Support emergency service calls during weather-related outages or storms, as needed

We are hiring a dependable and skilled Generator Mechanic / Service Technician to join our growing team. This field-based role is ideal for candidates with mechanical and electrical repair experience—particularly with small engines, standby generators, or automatic transfer switches (ATS).

Key Responsibilities
