Job summary

Demand Detroit is seeking a Tech I - Tech II to maintain, diagnose, repair and upgrade standby power generation equipment at customer sites. Work centers include diesel and natural gas engines, generator ends, control systems and transfer switches.

This position offers a sign-on bonus, competitive pay and a broad benefits program. Candidates should have at least three years of diesel engine and generator experience, a clean driving record, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, technical degree a plus
• Three years related experience with diesel engines, standby generators, and controls
• Clean driving record and valid Driver’s License required
• Experience with MTU and Volvo Penta highly desirable, but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, inspections and testing of standby generation equipment, automatic transfer switches, and diesel fire pumps
• Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose problems with generators, transfer switches, fire pumps, and industrial engines
• Make repair recommendations to customers; identify required parts to complete
• Perform repairs on generators, transfer switches, fire pumps, and industrial engines
• Utilize diagnostic tools - multimeter, megohm meter, OEM software
• Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures
• Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.
