Curtis Power Solutions, a subsidiary of Indel Power Group, is seeking an experienced Power Generation Field Service Technician for our location in Sterling, Virginia. This role is suitable for candidates at entry-level or with prior technician experience. Indel Power Group is a distributor/dealer for major brands such as MTU, Daimler/Mercedes, Perkins, PSI Engines, Detroit Diesel, Kohler, Cummins, Caterpillar, and Volvo Penta.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls
• Commitment to safety and cleanliness
• Maintain open communication with management team regarding job status, updates, and changes
• Use low and high voltage load banks for testing and repair of generator sets
• Determine corrective action through inspection of failed parts
• Order replacement parts and services in an efficient and effective manner
• Perform electrical and mechanical repairs to the engine, generator, or components
• Perform startup and commissioning on large genset units with automatic transfer switches
• Occasional driving required

Physical Demands

Technician roles are physically demanding and require prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Occasional heavy lifting and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds (or more) may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the Technician will frequently use hands to manipulate and grasp objects; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, stretch, or twist to perform repairs and inspections. Good vision to inspect repair work and effective communication are essential. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. A technician may work in areas with temperature and/or humidity extremes.
