Job summary

GE Vernova in the United States is seeking an Engineer in Generator Electrical Design. The role leads electrical design activities within projects to support R&D, Tendering and Requisition Engineering, working closely with design teams to ensure generator homogeneity and robust technical solutions.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering with emphasis in Electric Power and Rotating Machinery and 1 year of experience (Bachelor’s degree with 2 years).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Power Engineering with emphasis in Electric Power and Rotating Machinery.
• 1 year of experience; Bachelor’s degree requires 2 years.
• Proficiency with commercial electromagnetic packages.

Responsibilities

• Perform requisition electrical design activities for Turbogenerators, meeting schedules and cost objectives.
• Adaptation of electrical standard documentation to project specific requirements.
• Perform Design Analysis in terms of electrical, electromagnetic, thermal and ventilation aspects.
• Support Manufacturing, Sourcing, Erection and Commissioning activities as required.
• Interface with other design groups in the company.
• Support Cost-out, cycle reduction, and product quality enhancement projects.
• Response to customer and site questions, analyzing and assessing client specifications.
• Participation in tests and measurements at test stations, power plants, analysis of measurement results.
