Job summary

Portland General Electric is seeking a Generation Technician I for the Beaver Plant to support operations with maintenance of thermal plant equipment. The role requires journey-level mechanics experience and rotating shifts with minimal supervision.

You will perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, tests, and data collection while advancing toward Technician II. Prior experience with valves, pumps, motors, and related equipment is valued, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of journeyman-level experience in a power plant maintenance or operations role.
• Experience with valves, pumps, hydraulics, and related plant equipment.
• Ability to work independently and in teams; willingness to train to Technician II.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, operate and test plant equipment as qualified.
• Perform preventive maintenance and calibrations according to spec.
• Use test equipment and manuals to troubleshoot systems.
• Aid in data collection, reporting, and procedure writing.
• Participate in training and cross-functional teams.
• Operate forklifts when required.
• PGE core practices: customer focus, accountability, collaboration.
