Job summary

Portland General Electric is seeking a Manager, Plant Operations for Beaver and Clatskanie, OR to lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation of its power generation fleet. You will manage a team of plant operators, oversee daily production, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, 8+ years in power plant operations with 2+ years in supervision, and strong skills in leadership, budgeting, and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years in power plant operations with 2+ years in management/supervisory roles.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NERC, FERC, NEC, NFPA 70 and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Plant Operations Management: lead a team of plant operations staff ensuring safe, reliable operation and adherence to standards.
• Day-to-day plant operations: manage operations to meet output targets within regulatory constraints.
• Staff Training: oversee effectiveness of operations training program.
• Emergency Planning & Response: assist in implementing emergency action plans and procedures.
• Safety Leadership: promote and monitor safety practices.
• Financial Management: monitor expenditures and support budgeting and controls.
• Resourcing: oversee recruitment, evaluation and selection processes.
• Professional Development: provide coaching and development for the team.
