Job summary

Prisma Health in Greenville, SC seeks an accomplished General Surgeon to serve as Residency Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program. This leadership role advances educational excellence, resident growth, and program quality within a major not-for-profit health system.

The Program Director will ensure ACGME compliance, mentor residents and faculty, oversee curriculum, and drive scholarly activity while aligning with Prisma Health's mission and national reputation in graduate

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board Certification in General Surgery.
• Eligibility for South Carolina medical licensure.
• Demonstrated commitment to resident education and mentorship.
• Previous residency leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Providing strategic vision and leadership for the residency program.
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with ACGME and institutional requirements.
• Overseeing curriculum development, resident education, evaluation, and mentorship.
• Recruiting, developing, and supporting outstanding residents and faculty.
• Promoting scholarly activity, research, and academic achievement.
• Collaborating with hospital and medical education leadership to further program goals.
• Leading continuous quality improvement initiatives and program innovation.
