Job summary

Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD invites a Physician Assistant to join an established inpatient general surgery team. This employed role offers full-time hours, base salary ranging from $60.62 to $76.90 per hour, CME allowance and dedicated CME days, and malpractice tail coverage.

You will work under physician supervision to deliver comprehensive care, participate in diagnostics, and contribute to treatment plans while maintaining detailed patient records.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Maryland PA licensure and DEA registration required or eligible.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Urology experience is a bonus.
• 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care under physician supervision in inpatient general surgery.
• Order and interpret diagnostics; manage treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on options, prevention and post-care.
• Maintain precise health records to ensure patient safety and care continuity.
• Collaborate with a team of physicians and APPs to deliver high-quality care.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated Physician Assistant to join an employed position within a busy, well-respected practice, supported by the full resources of a robust health system network.

• Join an established team of 6 physicians and 18 APPs




• Practice setting: Inpatient general surgery




• Access to advanced surgical technology (experience with robotic-assisted surgery is preferred) and robust system resources




• Employed position within a nonprofit health system




• Deliver comprehensive patient care by conducting thorough assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostics, and managing treatment plans under physician supervision to drive optimal health outcomes.




• Empower patients and families by providing high-touch education on treatment options, preventative health, and community resources to support long-term wellness.




• Maintain precise health records through meticulous documentation of care journeys to protect patient safety and maintain seamless care continuity.




• Board Certification required




• Eligible for Maryland state medical licensure and DEA registration required




• Urology experience is a bonus!

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.




• Physician Assistant credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.




• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

• 1 year of experience preferred.
