Phelps Health in Rolla, Missouri, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – General Surgery to manage surgical patients from preoperative evaluation through postoperative follow-up, working with surgeons and the care team in clinic, inpatient units, and the operating room.

You’ll perform histories and physicals, order labs and imaging, educate patients, assist in the operating room, coordinate discharge planning, and mentor staff.

Qualifikationen

• Licensed NP or PA with surgical experience preferred.
• Ability to manage pre- and postoperative care in a team setting.
• Proficient in ordering and interpreting labs and imaging.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Aufgaben

• Perform histories and physicals; diagnose and manage surgical conditions.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging; prescribe within scope of practice.
• Educate and optimize patients before surgery, including informed consent.
• Round on inpatients; manage postoperative care, wounds, drains, and complications.
• Assist in the operating room and perform credentialed bedside and clinic procedures.
• Coordinate discharge planning and care with nursing, anesthesia, and other services.
• Document accurately, support quality improvement, and mentor staff and students.
