Job summary

MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, ME is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join our General Surgery service line. You will deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in outpatient clinics, perform outpatient procedures, consults, and follow-ups, and participate in postoperative care, inpatient rounding, discharge planning, and first assisting in the OR.

We offer a 40-hour work week with a 1:5 call schedule, optional 5 eight-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts, and

  • APRN/PA with active Maine license or eligibility.
  • Proven ability to deliver patient-centered care in surgical settings.
  • Experience supporting general surgery procedures and postoperative care.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outpatient and inpatient care in the General Surgery service.
  • Perform outpatient procedures, consults, and follow-ups.
  • Participate in postoperative care, inpatient rounding, and discharge planning.
  • Provide first-assisted support in the operating room.

Position Overview: Comprehensive Patient Care: As an APP in our General Surgery department, you will have the unique opportunity to deliver exceptional patient-centered care. Your responsibilities will be diverse, ranging from working in our outpatient clinic, performing outpatient procedures, consults, and follow-ups, to post-operative appointments, inpatient rounding, discharging, and first assisting in the operating room.

Work-Life Balance: This is a full-time position with a manageable 1:5 call schedule and weekend inpatient rounding, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance and pursue your passions outside of the workplace. We do offer the option of working either 5 eight hour shifts or 4 ten hour shifts per week to fit your lifestyle and schedule. There is an opportunity to volunteer for more call for further reimbursement.
