Job summary

Inova Health's Inova Surgery team in Virginia is seeking a full-time General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join our Willow Oaks Surgery office. The APP will support outpatient surgery patients and collaborate with the general surgery team.

Candidates should hold a master's degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or be a PA, have Virginia licensure or eligibility, and possess BLS/ACLS; surgical or inpatient experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in ACNP or PA program completed or in progress.
• Surgical or inpatient experience preferred.
• License or license eligibility in Virginia.
• DEA certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergent/urgent care needs for patients within scope of practice.
• Provide first response coverage while on duty.
• Perform initial assessment of general surgery consults and report findings.
• Elicit health history and perform physical examination.
• Admit patients to the service and coordinate care.
• Order, expedite diagnostics, and initiate consultations post-ops.
• Perform general surgery bedside procedures as needed.
• Manage wounds, drains, and dressings per protocol.
• Document encounters and communicate with the team.
• Participate in morning reports, sign-out sessions, and projects.
