Job summary

St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join our growing surgical team. This full-time role involves a full range of general surgical services, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency procedures, with collaboration across a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (ABMS or AOA).
• Current Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Current DEA registration.
• Excellent interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Staff a suburban level one trauma center and join our surgical team.
• Provide a broad range of elective general surgery, endoscopy, urgent surgery and trauma.
• General Surgery resident coverage 24/7 with an academic affiliation and research opportunities.
• Home call with optional additional compensated night and weekend shifts.
