Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provides diagnosis, treatment, consultation and follow up for patients seen in Northwestern Associates in Surgery.
• Completes timely History and Physical and documentation.
• Orders appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures and studies.
• Interprets and integrates data to deliver appropriate therapeutic goals.
• Utilizes referral services when appropriate.
• Provides education to patients on both acute and chronic care of condition.
• Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with medical staff; implements care within privileges.
• Performs surgical procedures and medically manages a variety of diagnoses to preserve health and prevent illness.
• Prescribes or administers therapy, medications, and treatments as needed.
• Communicates treatment plans and follow-up care to patients and families.
• Maintains and documents all patient interactions in the hospital's electronic health record.
• Supervises clinical support staff during office and surgical procedures.
• Participates in hospital committees and Medical Staff activities.
• Supports service line development and cost-saving initiatives; improves OR productivity.
• Participates in team-based care and population health initiatives.
