Job summary

Stephens County Hospital in Georgia seeks a General Surgeon to join our physician group and deliver broad, high-quality surgical care to patients in the hospital and surrounding community.

The ideal candidate will perform elective and emergency general surgeries, participate in inpatient, outpatient, and ED consultations, and be involved in our call schedule. You will collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine, anesthesia, nursing, PCPs, radiology, and other services to advance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency.
• Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
• Eligible for medical licensure in [State].
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide broad general surgery services including elective and emergency cases.

Surgical Scope

The practice may include procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, bowel and intestinal procedures, soft-tissue procedures, and other general surgical services consistent with the surgeon's training, experience, and hospital privileges.

The surgeon will also evaluate and manage urgent and emergent surgical conditions and coordinate transfer when a patient's needs exceed the services available locally.
