Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join the medical staff in Olympia Fields, Illinois. The role offers a broad general surgery practice and requires close collaboration with physicians, APPs, nurses, and hospital leadership to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include diverse procedures, participation in tumor boards and trauma rounds, call coverage, and diligent documentation in the EMR.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency.
• Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery; Illinois licensure eligibility.

• Perform a wide array of general surgical procedures, including hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, appendectomies, colorectal interventions, breast surgery, endocrine procedures, and basic thoracic/vascular cases.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in tumor boards, trauma rounds, and quality initiatives to optimize patient care and outcomes.
• Participate in call coverage for emergency and trauma services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in the EMR system.

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join the medical staff at Olympia Fields Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, collaborative surgeon to build a successful practice while providing high-quality surgical care to patients throughout Chicago’s south suburban communities. The ideal candidate will provide a broad range of general surgery services and work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and hospital leadership to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in General Surgery.
• Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
• Active or eligible for Illinois medical licensure.
• Strong clinical skills with a commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and teamwork.
• Experience in trauma/surgical critical care is a plus but not required; new graduates and experienced surgeons are encouraged to apply.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $375,000-450,000 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
