Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a General Surgeon - Per Diem to join our team in Ketchikan, Alaska.

This rural, island community offers a GI-heavy practice with a 1:3 call schedule, 24-hour ED coverage, and collaborative RN/LPN support.

Ideal candidates are board-certified MD/DO with a General Surgery Residency and 5+ years post-training, capable of independent practice and creative patient solutions, with some wound care as needed.

Qualifications

• Board-certified MD/DO with General Surgery Residency
• Minimum 5 years of post-training experience
• Interest in GI-heavy practice
• Ability to work independently and develop creative solutions for patients in a rural island community
• Wound care willingness for off-island clinic support

Responsibilities

• Call is 1:3 (roughly 10 days/month); 24-hour call for ED and Inpatients and urgent surgeries
• Perform general surgery procedures with GI emphasis and coordinate with visiting GI/Urology specialists
• Work within PeaceHealth Medical Group and Epic EHR for patient care
