• Orders and prescribes medical treatment and diagnostic testing.
• Consults and counsels with patients and families; provides health education.
• Refers patients to appropriate specialists to assure multidisciplinary care.
• Documents medical care in the patient’s record and codes procedures for billing.
• Supervises other medical professionals.
• Adheres to medical ethics.
