Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a high level of quality patient care in General Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
• Deliver clinical teaching to medical students and residents and participate in the educational program.
• Communicate effectively with primary care physicians, consulting services, and referring providers.
• Assist in marketing the General Surgery Programs to community physicians and managed care organizations.
• Participate in monthly division and department meetings, administrative duties, and institutional committees as requested.

Overview

The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville seeks a General Surgeon at the non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The division focuses on Gastrointestinal Surgery/Surgical Oncology and related subspecialties, with a growing elective surgical practice in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. The department aims to be a leading regional surgical health care asset with high-quality patient care, education, and research commitments.

This position reports to the Chief of Gastrointestinal Surgery and Surgical Oncology and the Chairman of the Department of Surgery. Each faculty member participates in a mentoring program and faculty development opportunities.
