Job summary

Colt Facility Repair is seeking a General Repair Technician to perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of systems in commercial properties in Oklahoma City, OK. The role includes plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks to keep buildings running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of commercial maintenance experience, be able to work with building management to minimize disruption to tenants, and hold OSHA safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of general repair or maintenance in commercial properties.
• Proficient in basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs.
• Experience with commercial-grade systems and fixtures.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for commercial repairs.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations for commercial properties.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or scaffolding as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work in commercial properties.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with various systems and equipment, providing prompt repairs.
• Inspect commercial buildings to ensure systems and fixtures are in good working order and compliant with safety standards.
• Repair or replace doors, windows, drywall, ceiling tiles and other components as needed.
• Maintain lighting systems and replace bulbs, ballasts, and fixtures.
• Respond to emergency repair calls for leaks, electrical faults, or other malfunctions.
• Coordinate with property managers/building owners to minimizeTenant disruption.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety standards during tasks.
• Document all work orders accurately for records and compliance.

We are seeking a skilled General Repair Technician to join our team, performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks that keep commercial properties running smoothly.

Job Summary:

The General Repair Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of systems and fixtures in commercial properties. This includes tasks related to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building upkeep. The ideal candidate will have experience working in commercial settings and be familiar with the unique challenges these environments present, such as coordinating with building management and ensuring minimal disruption to tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry work in commercial properties.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with various systems and equipment in commercial settings, providing prompt and effective repairs.
• Inspect commercial buildings regularly to ensure systems and fixtures are in good working order and comply with local safety regulations.
• Repair or replace doors, windows, drywall, ceiling tiles, and other building components as needed to maintain the facility's appearance and functionality.
• Maintain lighting systems, including replacing bulbs, ballasts, and light fixtures in commercial spaces.
• Respond to emergency repair calls for urgent issues like leaks, electrical faults, or system malfunctions in commercial buildings.
• Work closely with property managers and building owners to prioritize and schedule repairs in a manner that minimizes disruption to tenants or operations.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety standards during all repair and maintenance tasks.
• Document all work orders and repairs completed, ensuring proper records are kept for building management and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with outside contractors as needed for specialized repairs or major building renovations.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in general repair or maintenance work, with a focus on commercial properties like office buildings, retail centers, schools, or healthcare facilities.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs.
• Experience with commercial-grade systems and fixtures, including faucets, lighting, thermostats, and door hardware.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment necessary for commercial repairs.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations relevant to commercial properties.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with property managers, building owners, and tenants to coordinate repairs and ensure satisfaction.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials (50+ lbs), work in confined spaces, and perform tasks on ladders or scaffolding as required.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for travel between job sites.
• Availability: Must be available for on-call shifts and emergency repairs, including some nights or weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in commercial environments such as office buildings, hotels, retail stores, or healthcare facilities.
• Familiarity with energy-efficient systems, such as LED lighting and low-flow plumbing fixtures.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification, or willingness to complete certification.
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders and repairs.

Compensation:

• $20 - $35 p/h Based on experience
