Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a General Production Worker in Shelbyville, KY to support manufacturing operations in a clean, temperature-controlled facility. You will perform packing, slitting, and machine operation tasks for pharmaceutical packaging materials, while assisting press operations and ensuring quality standards.

You'll work 12-hour shifts, lift up to 50 pounds, and enter data into computer systems to support tracking and quality control.

  • Operate production machinery, including large printing presses and related equipment, following safety guidelines.
  • Assist press operators as a press helper, supporting setup, operation, and basic maintenance.
  • Handle slitting operations to cut materials to specified sizes and store finished rolls or sheets.
  • Carry out general labor tasks such as loading/unloading materials and maintaining a clean workspace.
  • Monitor production processes and visually inspect products for quality standards.
  • Enter production data into computer systems to support tracking and quality control.
  • Work effectively both in a team and independently to meet production goals.
  • Remain on feet for the entire 12-hour shift and move through the facility as needed.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operating procedures, including handling adhesives safely.
  • Participate in training on machinery and production processes and apply learnings daily.

Job Description

The General Production Worker supports manufacturing operations by performing packing, slitting, and machine operation tasks in a clean, temperature-controlled facility that produces foil and packaging for pharmaceutical products. This role involves general labor and production activities, assisting press operations, and ensuring that packaging materials meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lift up to 50 pounds when required to move materials, product, or equipment components safely.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operating procedures, including proper handling of adhesives and other materials used in the printing and packaging process.
  • Participate in training on machinery and production processes and apply learned skills to daily tasks.
Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a general production operator, press helper, packer, machine operator, or general laborer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Work history in machine operation and production processes, particularly in packaging or printing operations.
  • Comfort working in a temperature‑controlled facility with large printing presses and related equipment.
  • Willingness to receive and apply on‑the‑job training on machinery and production procedures.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very clean, temperature‑controlled manufacturing facility that uses large printing presses to produce foil and packaging for pharmaceutical products. Employees work on 12‑hour shifts, either 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with a four‑day work week and a potential but unlikely fifth day. Team members stand for the entirety of the shift and move throughout the production area while working both independently and with a team. The facility has a noticeable adhesive smell that employees must be able to tolerate. Dress code is typical for a production setting, focusing on safety and practicality to work around machinery and materials

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of SHELBYVILLE, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43000.00 - $45000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
