Job summary

Four Seasons Veterinary Specialists in Loveland, CO is seeking an Overnight Emergency/ICU Veterinary Technician to thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role involves caring for unstable patients, triaging emergencies, assisting with anesthesia, diagnostics and treatments, and supporting internal medicine, surgery, oncology, cardiology, and radiology departments. RVT certification required.

Qualifications

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification is required.
  • Minimum 2 years' recent veterinary practice experience.
  • Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood draws, lab work, anesthesia monitoring, and medication administration.

Responsibilities

  • Administer treatments and oversee nursing care for hospitalized patients.
  • Assist with general anesthesia and diagnostic/surgical procedures.
  • Perform lab work and specimen collection; maintain accurate records.
  • Explain procedures, fees, and hospital policies to clients; provide compassionate client education.
  • Prepare estimates, dispense medications, and assist with patient discharge.
  • Escort patients and clients to reception and explain the checkout process.

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hospital

  • Administertreatmentsandoverseecare,cleanlinessandfeedingof patients.
  • Assistwithgeneralanesthesiaandmedical,imagingandsurgical procedures.
  • Perform specimen collection and laboratory tests, including blood work, microbiology, urinalysisandfecalanalysis.Completeadministrativetasksforoutsidelaboratorywork.
  • Keeptreatmentrecordsuptodate,andtheappropriateveterinariansandstaffinformed of any changes.
  • Communicatewithclientsandotherinvolvedpartiesregardingthestatusandplanforall assigned hospitalized patients.
  • Assurethatallequipmentisfunctioningandingood repair.
  • Helpwithcleaningandre-stockingofexamrooms.Makesurethatappropriate instruments and equipment are available.
  • Ensurethatcagesandrunsarecleanand disinfected.
  • Maintainhospitalcleanlinessbyperforminglaundrydutiesandensuringtheparkinglot, west patio, and fenced yard remain orderly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

  • ProficientinIVcatheterplacement,blooddraws,labwork,anesthesiamonitoring, medication administration, and triage.
  • Solidknowledgeofveterinaryproceduresandterminology;committedtocontinued learning.
  • UnderstandingofOSHA,DEA,andanimalhealth regulations.
