Job summary

Delaware North Parks and Resorts at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida, is hiring a full-time General Plant HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and related facilities.

You will work nights/weekends as needed, require Universal Refrigeration Certification, a valid driver’s license, and experience with refrigeration units and low-voltage electronics. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical and structural preventive maintenance operations.
• Label, transport, and dispose of refrigerant cylinders; maintain records.
• Drive company vehicles around the property.

The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time General Plant HVAC Technician to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As a General Plant HVAC Technician, you will perform installations, maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment. Special knowledge and capabilities required for installations, maintenance, and repairs facility heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment. General knowledge of multiple disciplines including building construction, carpentry, roofing, drywall, carpeting/tiling, masonry, painting, gas appliances, electrical and plumbing is required. Position may require working nights, weekends and holidays.

Pay

$26.19 – $43.67 / hour

What will you do?

More about you

• You must be at least 21 years old to apply.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience with completion of trade school or a certified apprenticeship program.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Universal Refrigeration Certification required.
• Experience with refrigeration units, chiller systems, and electrical field equipment.
• Working knowledge of low-voltage controls and electronics.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and associated software.
• This position requires authorization to work at Kennedy Space Center and completion of all site access requirements.

• Ability to interpret various codes and blueprints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
