Job summary

Six Flags New England is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial heating and air conditioning systems as well as walk-in coolers and freezers. The technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. This is a fulltime, year-round position.

Hourly Rate: $29-35.00/Hour

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial HVAC systems and refrigeration units.
• Walk-in coolers and freezers experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Safety procedures and regulations follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including ductwork and ventilation.
• Service walk-in coolers and freezers for optimal operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on HVAC/refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and troubleshoot issues.
• Calibrate thermostats and controls; document work with records.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and maintain compliance.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including heating and air conditioning units, ductwork, and ventilation systems.
• Service and repair walk-in coolers and freezers, ensuring they are operating efficiently and effectively.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems to identify and address potential issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems in HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Perform system checks and adjustments, including calibrating thermostats and controls.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or formal apprenticeship is a plus.
• Experience working with commercial HVAC systems and refrigeration units, specifically walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Strong understanding of HVAC/R systems, components, and controls.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments, including confined spaces and rooftops.
